CARPET INSTALLATION TOOLS

Carpet Installation Tools

Choose carpet blades and installation kits

Make a short inventory of the tools you own, then buy the blade format or bundle that covers the missing task.

Match the blade to its holder

Check the center slot, rounded or square end, thickness and edge bevel. The ROBERTS 10-259 sets blade exposure at two positions. Those measurements describe projection from the knife, not blade thickness.

Separate storage and starting quantity

An internal holder can carry more blades than the initial package supplies. Read the offer for its included count and the manual for its replacement type. Some wall trimmers use a hook blade while others use a slotted refill.

Compare the contents, then the price

Write down the required kicker, cutter and tucker sizes. Confirm the exact contents if a kit changes between versions. If you own the key parts already, compare the individual tool instead of buying the bundle by piece count.

Guide questions

Can I choose by brand alone?

Use the exact model and blade holder. One brand may sell several profiles.

What if two dimensions appear on a knife?

Check whether the figure describes blade exposure, holder size or overall tool length.

What should I check in a large kit?

Confirm the exact tools, spares and cases you require before purchase.

Which accessory suits the job?

  1. Both Zimpty kits include a kicker, cutter and tucker. The ZY461 has a metal stair tucker. The ZY457 has a plastic tucker for hand pressure.

  2. The Better Tools square-end refill is 0.015 in thick. The Hicarer square-end pack is 0.020 in. Check which thickness the blade holder takes.
